Tot Lot Renovations Complete
The Tot Lot at Community Playfield has been renovated with new equipment, trees and plants, park benches and rubber play surfaces.
The Community Playfield Tot Lot, located off Locust Road, now features separate play areas for two age groups: 2 to 5-year-olds and 5 to 12-year-olds. New swings, climbing structures and slides have been installed. A new walk connects to a patio with a picnic table which is located between the play equipment and an area with both tot swings and belt swings. A new rubber play surface is in place and is designed to make the entire area accessible.
Tennis Court Reconstruction Completed
Reconstruction has been completed on the six outdoor tennis courts located at Community Playfield, adjacent to the recently renovated Tot Lot.
The work included complete demolition of the previous courts. The courts now have a new surface and drainage. They are surrounded by black vinyl coated fencing. The drainage is tied to new rain gardens at various locations around the courts. The rain gardens help eliminate ground water under the courts without having to put rain runoff into the storm sewers.
