Wilmette Park District

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Potential Exposure Update

As we monitor the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) daily and follow the recommendations of county and state health organizations, the safety of our patrons, participants, and staff is our top priority. It is with this in mind that the Wilmette Park District feels obligated to inform our patrons of any potential exposure to the virus that may have occurred at or around our programming and facilities.

On Wednesday, July 22, it was reported to us that a Center Fitness Club employee recently tested positive for COVID-19. This employee was last at work on July 21 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.

There is the risk that the individual may have been contagious at that time, and for this reason we are informing you of this event and encourage you to monitor your own health.

Furthermore, the Center Fitness Club WILL BE CLOSED FOR THE DAY on July 23 to allow for a deep cleaning of all equipment, spaces and surfaces. The Fitness Center will reopen after the 24-hour period on July 24 at 6 a.m.

All scheduled Center Fitness Club reservations and personal training sessions on July 23 are canceled and will receive a full refund.

Please note, the Center Fitness Club facility closure WILL NOT AFFECT outdoor group fitness classes, camps or other scheduled programming in the Community Recreation Center on July 23.

We will continuously evaluate the situation and inform patrons of any other reported cases and potential exposures.

We recognize the seriousness of the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in our community. We urge all residents to follow the Center for Disease Control’s tips by staying home if sick; avoiding close contact with people who are sick; covering coughs and sneezes; avoiding touching eyes, nose and mouth; and washing hands with soap and water.
