There’s a new face at the Centennial Recreation Complex! Give a warm welcome to Doug Bundy, the new Centennial Recreation Complex Operations Supervisor. Doug joins the Wilmette Park District family after spending 22 years at the Round Lake Area Park District, where he began as a Camp Counselor and worked his way up through several supervisory roles.

“While leaving Round Lake after so many years wasn’t an easy choice, the chance to work with the Wilmette community and explore new recreation opportunities was one that I couldn’t pass up,” Doug explains. The newly-created role of Operations Supervisor will oversee the daily processes and facility activities at Centennial including the Ice Rinks, Tennis Club and Aquatics Center. Doug will be working closely with front-line staff to streamline customer service as well as improving building operations across Centennial.

Doug is excited for the opportunity to aid and benefit the Wilmette Park District’s mission to enrich the quality of community life and promote activity. “By revamping some of our processes, our program managers will be able to focus their energy on providing new, exciting opportunities for the community,” he says.

In his free time, Doug enjoys spending time with his family outdoors. “We love being out in nature – biking, hiking or going to the beach!” Be sure to say hello the next time you’re at Centennial, and welcome Doug to the Wilmette community.
