WILMETTE –The Wilmette Golf Club has a new restaurant, and À La Carte devotees will have cause to celebrate. A La Carte Grill will open on April 2, bringing creative cuisine to the Wilmette Golf Club at 3900 Fairview Drive (at Lake Ave. and Harms Rd.).

À La Carte owner Christine DiClementi-Harlow is over the moon about her new venture: “I’m very excited to bring my country club experience and offer the food quality of À La Carte to make this THE spot to come.”

In addition to serving breakfast (when the golf course is open), lunch and dinner year-round, enhanced beverage cart service with special cocktails and wines will delight parched golfers on the course. “We’re looking for ways to accommodate the golfers more,” says DiClementi-Harlow. She and her crew plan to offer daily specials, holiday feasts, and special libation-pairing dinners.

À La Carte will continue its robust catering program. With its warm atmosphere and large windows that frame a striking view of golf course, DiClementi-Harlow is surprised many aren’t aware that this “hidden gem” is available for catered events. “Some don’t know the Wilmette Golf Club is open to the public,” she notes.

Awarding the food service contract to A La Carte Grill is part of a larger initiative to elevate the customer’s overall experience at the Wilmette Golf Club. Wilmette Golf general manager Adam Kwiatkoski reports, “A La Carte Grill will bring new food and beverage options to our customers, plus, we plan to employ new technologies to make ordering food more efficient for our golfers.”

DiClementi-Harlow is no stranger to Wilmette (DiClementis have lived here for over 85 years), and she’s been in food service for forty-five years. She got her start in the industry while a student at New Trier, waitressing at assorted North Shore country clubs. Over time she worked her way up to the management level. Ten years ago, she became the third owner of À La Carte.

With limitless energy, business savvy, culinary talent and a devoted team, DiClementi-Harlow has grown À La Carte into a thriving gourmet food enterprise, serving many local businesses such as the Kenilworth Club, Evanston’s Women’s Club, The Wilmette Harbor Club and The Grove. À La Carte cuisine is also sold at local grocery stores, including Lakeside Foods and The Grand in Winnetka and Glencoe. A La Carte Grill is a natural extension of her business, and DiClementi-Harlow is eager to host repeat diners at her new establishment. “People say that our food is addictive,” she giggles.
