Yoga on the Beach returns this summer for some meditative wellness in the warm sun and soft sands of Gillson Beach. The season opens on June 9th and will bring a full hour of relaxation and invigoration every Saturday at 9 a.m. on up through the month of August. A rotating schedule of instructors will ensure a variety of poses, asanas and overall style – ensuring a fresh and engaging start to your summertime weekends.

Yoga on the Beach began in the summer of 2017 as an 8-week session that hit such high demand and popularity, the Wilmette Park District organized and ran a second session for the rest of the summer. Yogis of all ages and skill levels gathered at Gillson Swimming Beach for a fun and unique twist on traditional yoga. “It’s a completely unique experience because of the atmosphere of the beach,” says park district employee and Yoga on the Beach participant, Tiffany Zanon. “You can close your eyes and feel the warmth of the sunlight and the sound of the water – it is more than just a class; it’s being with others of all levels, enjoying the morning in the beauty of nature.”

This year participants have the option to sign up for June, July, August or all three months. A drop-in fee is also an option for anyone looking to join for a day or two. So, join the fun and do something great for yourself this summer.
