PGA Junior League at Wilmette Golf Club
May 9-July 31, 2015
The PGA of America is spearheading a program that gives children age 13 and under the opportunity to enjoy golf in a fun and competitive team format. Think of it as little league baseball for golfers. The structured league will provide a popular, less stressful scramble format as opposed to stroke-play competition. This is a great way to keep kids involved in the game.
The team will meet at Wilmette Golf Club and also play at other clubs in the area. The other teams we will be competing against are from Indian Hill Club, Westmoreland CC, North Shore CC, The Glen Club, Bryn Mawr CC and Sportsman’s GC. Exact days and times to be announced. The fee is Wilmette resident: $198/ Non-resident: $250. You will not be required to pay any fees until the days and times are finalized.
- Six regular season competitions in a fun scramble format
- Six one-hour team practices led by Director of Instruction Kim McCombs

Junior Summer Golf Academy NEW Format
Young golfers learn the swing basics and proper golf etiquette from our professional Wilmette Golf Club staff. The golf academcy has been revamped this year to give kids more time out on the course. Class will meet twice a week for 1.5 hours on the driving range (Tuesdays & Wednesdays) and once a week in the evening (Thursdays) to play the course. All golf cadets accompanied by an adult may play golf free-of-charge after 7 p.m. for the entire season. Fees are $295 for residents and $342 for non-residents. Golf Academy sessions run for four weeks. Click here for class availability and to register online.
Advanced Junior Golf
This group will meet twice a week (Tuesdays & Thursdays) for four weeks to discuss swing concepts, short game methods, skills and course management. Emphasis will be on tournament play. The group will play 18 holes each day after the session and will turn in scores for publication. There will also be many informal tournaments, with something—most of all bragging rights—riding on every round. Director of Instruction Kim McCombs will determine eligibility for participation. Class sizes will range from a minimum of eight to a maximum of 16. Fees are $160 for residents and $205 for non-residents. Note: There are opportunities to compete against players from other clubs for an additional fee. For more information call the Pro Shop at 847-256-9777. Teen Golf Camp
Young golfers have the opportunity to learn new skills, make new buddies and get valuable experience playing the course. After an initial week of instruction, the group will be teeing it up on the course for two hours a week to learn golf etiquette and course management, as well as the technical skills needed to navigate a golf course. Enrollment is very limited, so sign up early. Click here for class availability and to register online.
Junior Golf Lessons
During these 4-week sessions we introduce the basic concepts of the long and short game, as well as accepted parameters of behavior on and around the golf course. It has been our experience that if kids know what is expected of them at a golf course, and are able to enjoy the game as it was meant to be enjoyed, the learning of the game takes care of itself. Here’s the opportunity to lay the foundation for a life time of enjoying the game of golf. Fees are $99 for residents and $125 for non-residents. For more information call the Pro Shop at 847-256-9777. Maximum 10 students per class. Click here for class availability and to register online.
Age 18 & up
For students with little or no experience. During these 4-week sessions we will introduce students to fundamentals of the swing and the short game, as well as teaching the basics of getting around a golf course, etiquette, making tee times and joining groups. We try to give as much individual instruction as time will allow. At the end of this course students should be able to play golf with their friends and enjoy the game of a lifetime. Fees are $99 for residents and $125 for non-residents. For more information call the Pro Shop at 847-256-9777. Maximum 12 students per class. Click here for class availability and to register online.
Age 18 & up
For golfers who have played before or taken beginning lessons. There is no need to be an accomplished golfer. During these 4-week sessions we will work with advanced swing concepts, the short game and concentrate on putting to improve scores. In this class, students get to know each other and form groups that lead to their regular games. Experience levels are varied, so a good deal of time is spent on individual instruction. Fees are $99 for residents and $125 for non-residents. For more information call the Pro Shop at 847-256-9777. Maximum 10 students per class. Click here for class availability and to register online.

Video Golf Swing Analysis
Indoor Winter Golf Instruction
Improve your swing this winter by working with our PGA Professionals and the V1 Coaching System in a series of private indoor lessons. Students hit into an indoor net while their swing is being recorded. This system gives our PGA Professionals the chance to analyze your swing on a frame-by-frame basis. Students can view a copy of the lesson by logging on to the V1 Home website. Learn the correct positions that make a great golf swing. Compare your swing to your favorite touring professional.
Lessons are offered by the half hour for one or more students. A discount is offered for a six-lesson series. To schedule lessons click here or call the Golf Pro Shop at 847-256-9777.
