Jamie Locke

Head PGA Golf Professional

e-mail Jamie

I have worked at a variety of positions throughout my career. From 1989-1991, I was a member of the South African PGA Tour . I became the Assistant Golf Professional at the Wilmette Golf Club in 1992 and Head Golf Professional on January 1, 2011.

My positions in the great game of golf have included grounds and greens, caddy, caddy master, touring professional, assistant professional, teaching professional and I am now a Class A PGA Professional, having completed the Professional Golf Management Program in February of 2003.

I also participate in Illinois PGA Section Tournaments where I attempt to keep my golf game as sharp as possible. The Illinois PGA Section conducts playing opportunities for its PGA members, apprentices, and amateur golfers as well as support for the local golf professional.

I have given over 19,500 private golf lessons in my 25 years at the Wilmette Golf Club and believe strongly that I can help improve your game.

I have been playing and teaching golf on the north side of Chicago for the last 22 years. I have been a devoted student of the game since I grew up in Texas in the sixties and seventies. The game continues to amaze and amuse me. It can be wonderful, mysterious, and brutally cruel, and I love helping people with that.

The game of golf has been a part of my life for over 30 years.   I have been fortunate enough to play the game at all levels including junior, collegiate and professional.  Growing up on the northwest side of Chicago, Wilmette has always been a familar spot.  My grandparents, who played here regularly, brought me here in 1993 for my first experience with junior group lessons.

My goal is to have golfers realize and reach their full potential while aspiring to be better.  Overall, you should enjoy the experience when you sign up to spend time with another person.  My professional career started after graduating from DePaul University in 2003.  I am excited to be part of the Wilmette team and look forward to meeting you.
