Title: Softball Coordinator
Reports To: General Recreation Supervisor
Facility: Howard Park Softball Fields
Status: Seasonal Non-exempt, June 2 thru August 9, 2008
 
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
The Softball Coordinator is responsible for overall coordination and supervision of the High School Co-Ed Softball league, maintaining good communication with team captains and developing weekly field schedules for games and practices. This person is required to attend all games taking place in this league. Following all games it will be the coordinators responsibility to collect all teams scoring sheets and compile them for team standings reports.
 
Required Education and Qualifications:
High School Degree plus some college, preferably someone currently studying Recreation Administration, Leisure Studies or Sports Management. Previous experience organizing leagues/team sports.
 
Schedule:
Normal working hours are Saturday evenings, 4:00pm to 9:00pm. Pre-season meetings and preparations are required.

Title: Great Gillson Camp Assistant Director
Reports To: General Recreation Supervisor
Facility: Community Recreation Center
Status: Seasonal Non-exempt, June 16 thru August 8, 2008
 
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
The Assistant Camp Director is responsible for overall supervision of the camp staff and participants including maintaining good communication with staff and the camp director. This person will be required to supervise a variety of different areas as this camp meets at Gillson Park, and campers will be dispersed throughout the entire park on any given camp day. Proper supervision is required to maintain the safety of all campers while participating in camp activities including spending much time at the beach. Assistant Directors are required to attend field trips when needed and the end of the summer overnighter. The Assistant Director will also be responsible for handling the Camp Directors responsibilities in the absence of the camp director.
 
Required Education and Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Early Childhood/Teaching, Recreation Administration or related field; with 1 to 3 years of experience.
 
Schedule:
Normal working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am-3:00pm, some pre-camp meetings and preparations are required.

The director will also be responsible for coordinating weekly schedules for themselves and the two Assistant Camp Directors to ensure proper coverage all five days of the week.

Bachelors degree in Early Childhood/Teaching; Recreation Administration or related field; with 3 to 5 years previous experience.

Title: Learn to Swim Instructor

Normal working hours will include Monday through Friday, 9:30am-1:15pm, Saturdays and Sundays 8:45am-11:15am. Hours may vary according to facility usage, number of class registrations, and weather conditions. This schedule will be altered as needed at the discretion of the Facility Manager or Learn to Swim Supervisors. Extra hours may be required at various times.

Title: Pool Maintenance  Part Time
Reports To: Assistant Facility Manager

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
The Centennial Maintenance worker is responsible for the general upkeep of the Aquatic Facility including offices, locker rooms, deck areas, pools and surrounding grounds. Water quality testing, accurate record keeping, basic equipment repair and ability to work independently are key elements to this job.

Title: Lifeguard
Reports To: Assistant Facility Manager
Facility: Centennial Park

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Lifeguards are responsible for maintaining the safety of the facility through vigilant scanning and observation of all pools. They will administer first aid as needed, activate the Emergency Action Plan when required, and actively participate in preventative Lifeguarding techniques as designated under the StarGuard Lifeguarding Program.
 
Required Education and Qualifications:
Must be at least 16 years of age. As a condition of employment, must be able to pass all elements of the StarGuard Lifeguard training program including physical skills exams and written tests. To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The Graphic Designer works with the Communications Manager and Marketing Assistant to create and produce brochures, flyers, posters and other promotional materials for both in-house use and distribution to the general public. Additional responsibilities include the creation of special event artwork, logos, flyers, posters and brochures as needed.
 
Required Education and Qualifications:
Must have excellent people and communication skills. Able to multi-task projects. Knowledge of marketing, communications and photography functions. Strong project management skills. Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines. Be self-motivated with a commitment to quality customer service. Ability to work a varied schedule including some nights and weekends if needed.
