All Wilmette Eagles in the House League (grades 4-5) and the Travel League (grades 6-8) will be given a helmet, shoulder pads and a game jersey.

Registration

Registration for Wilmette Eagles House League and Travel League Football has begun. You can register your Eagle online ( click here to register) or in person at any Park District location. If you are interested in coaching for the 2013 season, please download and fill out a volunteer coaching form  and send it to Jason Pilecki at the Community Recreation Center or via fax to 847-251-4930.


Wilmette Eagles Travel Tackle Football (Grades 6-7-8)

Pre-season begins: Monday, August 12, 2013

     The goal of the Wilmette Eagles tackle football program is to introduce youngsters to proper techniques, stress proper conditioning of athletes, teach football skills, and instill a spirit of sportsmanship and teamwork among players. Players are divided into groups according to age, height and weight, and skill to minimize the possibility of injuries.  
      Practices are held Monday-Friday and on Saturday during preseason conditioning. During the season teams practice Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday.  Games are scheduled for Sundays at New Trier West Campus and other locations. The season wraps up with football banquets in the cafeteria of the Wilmette Junior High on Wednesday, October 30. More details will be distributed at a later date.


Wilmette Eagles House League Tackle Football (Grades 4-5)

Season begins: Tuesday, August 27, 2013

     The importance of instruction, the development of skills, and the fun of playing the game are emphasized in this closely supervised program. Players in grades 4-5 will be divided into groups according to age, height and weight, and skill to minimize the possibility of injuries.  
      Practices are held Tuesday through Thursday and on Saturday. Games are scheduled for Saturdays and/or Sundays at Howard Park and other locations. The objective of the tackle football program is to introduce youngsters to proper techniques and conditioning, along with the teaching of football skills and instilling a spirit of sportsmanship and teamwork among players. The season wraps up with football banquets in the cafeteria of the Wilmette Junior High on Tuesday, October 29. More details will be distributed at a later date.

Wilmette Eagles House League Flag Football (Grades 2-3)

     Get your young football player ready for Wilmette Eagles football with our House League Flag Football program for Grades 2-3.  Player safety will be a priority as we focus on the fundamentals of football. Players will learn how to throw, catch and run basic plays with an emphasis on fun and teamwork. Coaching information, league play and rules will be distributed.
     The first Saturday will be a skill session run by SportsKids with coaches’ help. Week two will consist of controlled scrimmages working on offense, defense and learning the plays. The remaining Saturdays will be games overseen by SportsKids officials and parent volunteer coaches. This program meets at the Community Recreation Center playfield. Rain date: October 19.
