STRENGTH TRAINING
Age 21 & up
Warm up to lively music followed by an all over, full-body workout to improve strength, balance and posture using light weights and resistance bands. Instructor on Mondays: Ali Margolis; on Thursdays: KC Bleuher. Virtual Option Available. Monday or Thursday mornings No class November 24

TAI CHI
Age 21 & up
Learn a basic form of Tai Chi and other techniques designed to energize the body, reduce and manage stress, improve balance, coordination and flexibility. The regular practice of this system of movements can facilitate harmonious energy flow throughout the body, enhancing one's physical and emotional well-being. This class will meet at the Gazebo in Mallinckrodt Park, weather permitting; please dress for the weather, and bring a water bottle. In case of inclement weather, we'll bring class indoors. Instructor: Evelyn Thompson. Monday or Thursday mornings; no class November 24

LOW-IMPACT FITNESS
Age 21 & up
Use balance, core, light weights and low-impact cardio to increase core strength, flexibility, range of motion and give your heart rate a boost. Instructor: KC Bleuher. Virtual option available. Late Tuesday mornings

PILATES
Age 21 & up
Stretch and strengthen the muscles of your core, known as the "powerhouse." This class is done on the floor, so make sure you have a yoga mat. Instructor: KC Bleuher. Wednesday mornings

SIT & BE FIT
Age 21 & up
In this chair-based class we use hand weights, bands and a Pilates ball to help build core, upper and lower body strength. There is a chair-based cardio warm up and we finish with a 10-minute stretch. Instructor: KC Bleuher. Virtual option available. Monday, Wednesday or Friday mornings

BE MOVED W/JOANIE
Age 21 & up
BeMoved is a fun and easy-to-follow dance fitness class. Get a full body workout that is gentle and beginner-friendly! Instructor: Joanie Bayhack. Thursday mornings

ZUMBA
Age 21 & up
Zumba is an aerobic fitness program featuring movements inspired by various styles of Latin American dance, performed primarily to Latin American dance music. Come dance your way to fitness with instructor Ruben Zapata! Friday mornings

DYNAMIC STRENGTH AND BALANCE
This class covers a variety of standing and chair yoga poses, as well as some mat options. Class will be modified for those unable, or who would not like to, go to the floor for mat work. We work on balance, strengthening your core and increasing your flexibility. We offer a variety of stretching in the chair as well as standing, then mat stretching at the end. Instructor KC Bleuher. Cards, Games and Special Interest

WATERCOLOR CLASS
Age 21 & up

Navigate techniques, materials, color, drawing and inspiration to paint in the medium of watercolor. Students at all levels will have fun creating satisfying projects in watercolor and building their skills. Our instructor, Nancy Rose, studied at the American Academy of Art and the Evanston Art Center. She has been painting in watercolor for decades, and has been teaching private clients for many years. Join us in this relaxed, supportive setting, and grow together. Please ask for a supply list at time of registration. Monday afternoons

CANASTA LESSONS
Age 21 & up
Learn to play the new Canasta! We will guide you through the basics and provide written rules. Invite your friends to learn with you, and join our weekly Wednesday morning games! Instructor: Sylvia Taflove. Wednesday mornings

MAHJONGG LESSONS
Age 21 & up
Learn the basics or sharpen your skills in American Mahjongg, a game played by four people with unique tiles. A game of skill, strategy and calculation with a degree of chance, the object of the game is to make a hand with tiles, called a Mahjongg. Join the Center's friendly, active group on Friday mornings. Trained beginners are integrated right into the game! Instructor: Sylvia Taflove. Friday mornings


EVENTS

PUMPKINS and PIE PARTY
Brush up on your pumpkin decorating skills! We supply the pumpkins, pies and paint; you use your creative side to decorate a small pumpkin. Seasonal pie and refreshments will be served.

UNVEILED MEMORIES BOOK DISCUSSION
Meet author, Ida Paluch Kersz, a Wilmette resident and Holocaust survivor. Ida is an avid volunteer at the Holocaust Museum in Skokie. She will discuss her book, Unveiled Memories, which recounts her story as a little Jewish child who was saved by good, yet flawed people. Her story is a fascinating story of survival. This discussion is free, but please register by clicking on the event title link.

MOVIE AT MALLINCKRODT

Come for lunch and stay for a movie! A boxed lunch will be served, followed by a showing of Mildred Pierce, the 1945 classic starring Joan Crawford and Jack Carson. Pre-registration is required.

MALLINCKRODT MILE TURKEY TROT
Trot around Mallinckrodt Park as you partake in our twist on this Thanksgiving classic event. We will walk a mile (or less if need be!) around Mallinckrodt Park. We'll end our day with a Thanksgiving-inspired lunch. Please register by 11/4 to receive a T-shirt for participating in this event.

ONE-Day Adventures

LIZZADRO MUSEUM OF LAPIDARY ART and LUNCH
The Lizzadro Museum displays gemstone treasures, antique to modern, with a blend of earth science exhibits. We will enjoy a guided tour and end our day with lunch at a local Oakbrook restaurant. Admission, lunch and transportation included.

MITCHELL MUSEUM OF THE AMERICAN INDIAN and LUNCH
November is National Native American Heritage Month. Let's take a 90-minute docent led tour of the exhibit Regional Tour of American Indian Cultures. The tour will highlight the cultural similarities and differences within and between the five distinct geographic regions. We will also stop in the teaching lodge, which houses a life-sized hunting wigwam and traditional games. We'll finish off our day with lunch at Bluestone. Transportation, admission, and lunch included.

A CHRISTMAS CAROL AT THE GOODMAN THEATRE
The holiday season isn't complete without a trip to Goodman Theatre to see A Christmas Carol. Enjoy this heartwarming story of generosity's triumph over greed come to vivid life. We will enjoy a catered breakfast at Mallinckrodt before we hop on the bus downtown. At the time of booking, the Goodman is recommending all attendees wear a mask during the performance, but it is not required. Health and safety protocols are subject to change.
