We've expanded our Platform Tennis Program! Our Winter '21 class offerings have something for everyone in the family. Can't find a good fit? Contact us and we'll create something for you!

Notes:

  • A Wilmette Platform Tennis Club membership is NOT required to take lessons.

  • Classes run 12 weeks, and begin the week of January 4.

ADULT INSTRUCTION: AGE 18 & UP


WOMEN'S PADDLE

318001 Woman's Intro to Paddle
> Mondays: 9:30-11 am or 6-7 pm
> Wednesdays: 9-10:30 am or 5:30-6:30 pm
Women's Intro to Paddle is for those with little or no knowledge of Platform Tennis. Students learn the mechanics of basic strokes, scoring and Platform Tennis etiquette in a fun environment.

318031 Women's Advanced Beginner Paddle
> Mondays: 9:30-11 am or 7-8 pm
> Wednesdays: 9-10:30 am or 5:30-6:30 pm

Women's Advanced Beginner is for those players who have completed "Intro to Paddle" and who have some experience with Platform Tennis. Students continue to build on what they learned in "Intro" - the mechanics of basic strokes, scoring and Platform Tennis etiquette - in a fun environment.

318003 Woman's Intermediate/In-House Paddle
> Tuesdays: 11 am-12:30 pm
> Wednesdays: 10:30-Noon or 4:30-6 pm
> Thursdays: 1-2:30 pm (in-house match play)
This class is designed for students who know Platform Tennis basics and/or have successfully completed our Introduction to Paddle and Advanced Beginner classes, or have other match play experience. We review and continue to develop basic strokes, positioning and screen play, and add more shots to your repertoire. Class time focuses on consistency of strokes and doubles strategy.

318017 Midnight Women Warriors
> Mondays: 8-9:30 pm
In Midnight Warriors, Intermediate-Level women enjoy one hour of instruction followed by unsupervised doubles play in a round robin format during the last half hour. Join us for a little friendly Monday night competition.


CO-ED PADDLE

318015 Co-ed Paddle Drill
> Wednesdays, 5:30-6:30 pm

This is a fun and dynamic format for learning all the basics of Platform Tennis, including court positioning, stroke technique, screen play, communication, scoring and rules of the game. This program is designed for beginners and advanced beginners.

> Saturdays, 3-4:30 pm

This is a fun and dynamic format for learning all the basics of Platform Tennis including: court positioning, stroke technique, screen play, communication, scoring and rules of the game. This program is designed for beginners, advanced beginners and intermediates. We know you will love it!


YOUTH INSTRUCTION


318032 Jr. Platform Tennis: Age 5-7 Years
> Mondays 3-4 pm
> Tuesdays 3:30-4:30 pm
> Wednesdays 3:30-4:30 pm

Children have so much fun learning the basics of the game, they might not even realize they are in an instructional class designed to develop their racquet skills, help them gain confidence in their hand-eye coordination and learn the nuances of the sport!

318033 Jr. Platform Tennis: Age 8-10 Years
> Mondays: 4-5 pm
> Tuesdays: 4:30-5:30 pm
> Wednesdays: 4:30-5:30 pm

In this class, students further develop skills learned in previous classes. Players engage in challenging, interactive games and drills and competitive point play, as well as agility and endurance exercises. We use a game-based approach.

Women's Team Drills

Women's Series 6, 7, 16, "B" and "C" Team Drills

The Wilmette Park District is a part of North Shore Women's Platform Tennis League (NSWPTL), and currently has five Woman's teams playing in the Day and Night leagues with levels ranging from series VI-XVI. Each team drills and plays matches on their designated days/nights of the week. To participate in a team drill, players must be members of the Wilmette Platform Tennis Club as well as members of the team.

Mondays, 11 am-12:30 pm - Series VI
Tuesdays, 9:30-11 am - Series VII
Wednesdays, 12:30-2 pm - Series XVI
Saturdays, 12:30-1:30 pm - Monday Night "C"
Saturdays, 1:30-3 pm - Monday Night "B"

The 2-on-1 is perfect for you and your partner to better communication skills.
