WBA INTRO TO BASEBALL (Registration open to all as of 2/8)
Age 5-6 and 6-7
WBA's Intro to Baseball League is focused on learning the FUNdamentals of baseball! Objectives are to improve basic skills (throwing, catching, batting and base running), and develop an atmosphere of fun while learning the game.

Practices are held once a week on Saturdays or Sundays, at the discretion of the coaches. Each team will play six games during the season. We play games once a week Monday-Thursday evenings at 6 p.m. Games will be scheduled at Central or McKenzie School. At least one game will be held at historic Roemer Park (Roemer games start at 5:30 p.m.).

Each player will receive a hat and jersey. White pants and a baseball mitt must be provided by the player.

Touch Rugby is non-contact, and a great introduction to the fastest-growing sport in the world today. The North Shore Rhinos emphasize child development, healthy activity, fair play and safety throughout the season. We have designed this program to make your child comfortable by featuring fun games that encourage teamwork, sportsmanship and individual skill. SPRING 2022 YOUTH SOCCER LEAGUE (Registration open to all as of 2/8)

  • Registration Deadline: March 23 (we will start a waitlist after the final registration deadline)

In this league, boys and girls play in separate leagues divided into grade levels depending on the number of registered players. Grade K-4 players are organized into teams based on the school they attend. 5-8 grade players play on mixed school teams. Players registered for the Fall/Spring option will remain on their teams this spring. New Spring registrants will be assigned to teams. We do not accept friend requests or preferred team placement requests.

Uniforms & Equipment: the Wilmette Park District provides team uniforms consisting of a jersey, shorts and socks, which should be worn to all games. These uniforms are for both the Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 season. Participants must provide their own rubber soccer cleats and shin guards.

Coaches: we rely on parents and friends for all coaching duties. Anyone interested in volunteering may contact Taylor Brooks at 847-256-9690 or tbrooks@wilpark.org. We allow a maximum of two coaches per team for all levels.

Games: we play all games on Saturdays at Community Playfields, located between Highcrest Middle School and Wilmette Junior High School. Games take place between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

This program features weekly practices and games on Saturdays. Participants learn the basics of softball in a fun environment that allows them to develop skills on practice days and implement them on game days. Coaches pitch on game days with more emphasis placed on how to field, hit, run the bases, and the basic rules of the game.
