One-Day Workshops

Babysitting Training
Age 11-15
Learn the information and skills necessary to provide safe and responsible care for children in the absence of parents or adult guardians. A certified American Red Cross instructor covers the five critical components of responsible childcare: leadership, safety and safe play, basic care, first aid and professionalism. Participants should bring a lunch, and must attend the full class to obtain American Red Cross certification.

CPR/First Aid/AED Training
Age 16 & up
Students in this American Red Cross course learn First Aid, CPR, and AED. An American Red Cross-certified instructor teaches this class. Participants should bring a lunch, and must attend the full class to obtain certification.

Self Defense
Age 8 and up
Learn to defend yourself regardless of your age, size, strength, speed or physical ability. Originally certified to teach police officers, this is one of the easiest to learn and most effective self-defense classes available. Be safer at work, at home, when traveling and more. Ages 8-11 must attend with a parent/guardian.

Magic Class
Age 5-12
Children will have a great time learning a collection of fascinating tricks from the "Magic Team of Gary Kantor"! Amaze everyone with tricks that involve cards, ropes, coins, etc. Take this class repeatedly; we introduce new tricks every session. Children receive magic set to take home!

Parent/Child Yoga
Age 5-12
Join us for parent and child yoga lead by instructors from Chicago Loves Dance! We supply the mats all you need to do is come ready for some yoga and stretch! Under the creative direction of skilled yoga instructors, take a yoga class geared towards the comfort level of both children and adults learning poses, movements, stretches and most importantly spending quality time together. Rock N' Kids
Introduce your tiny one to movement-based learning and imaginative play with music. Intro to K9 Nose Work
Age 18 & up
Let your dog do what she's genetically programmed to do--search for, and find, scent. Nose Work builds confidence, teaches creative problem solving, and provides mental exercise. Build your relationship with your dog while having fun doing something your dog will love! Dogs are crated when not working, therefore dogs who don't love other dogs will enjoy this class. Intro to Odor
Age 18 and up
This class follows Intro to K9 Nose Work. Your dog learns to hunt for specific odors: birch, anise and clove--working up to more complex hides. We may also work outside, weather permitting. Dogs must be crated or behind a barrier when not working in class. Please bring your own crate. If you are interested in this class but have not taken an Intro to Nose Work class, please contact Sally at NOTE: Fee is per class.

This advanced class works on improving your dog's stay, recall and leash walking skills. Your dog must have attended Perfect Puppy or Fresh Start Beginner prior to attending this class. Bring a dog bed to class each week. No class: 4/17.
